Job Description :
Providing technical support and troubleshooting for industrial automation systems primarily utilizing the Ignition SCADA software, focusing on diagnosing and resolving issues related to machine data acquisition, system configuration, integration with PLCs, and ensuring smooth operation of the overall SCADA system across various industrial machines and processes
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide front-line support for issues related to Ignition SCADA systems.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including hardware, software, network, and database issues.
Analyze logs, error messages, and system performance to identify and correct malfunctions.
System Configuration and Maintenance:
Configure SCADA systems, including setting up tags, alarms, and trends in Ignition.
Maintain and update the SCADA systems to ensure they meet operational requirements and performance standards.
Perform regular system health checks, updates, and backups to ensure data integrity and system availability.
System Integration:
Integrate Ignition SCADA systems with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), databases, and other industrial equipment.
Work on connecting various data sources to the SCADA system and ensuring seamless data flow and accuracy.
Custom Development and Scripting:
Develop custom scripts using Python or other programming languages supported by Ignition to enhance system functionality.
Create custom dashboards, reports, and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) to meet specific user requirements.
User Training and Support:
Provide training to end-users and operators on how to effectively use the SCADA system.
Develop and update user manuals, documentation, and technical guides to assist users in operating the system efficiently.
Security Management:
Implement and maintain security measures within the SCADA system, including user authentication, role-based access control, and data encryption.
Monitor and respond to security alerts or potential vulnerabilities in the SCADA environment.
System Optimization:
Continuously monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements to optimize the SCADA system’s efficiency and reliability.
Implement best practices for system scalability, ensuring the SCADA system can grow with the needs of the organization.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with engineering teams, IT staff, and management to ensure the SCADA system aligns with organizational goals and operational requirements.
Act as a liaison between the SCADA team and other departments, ensuring clear communication and understanding of SCADA-related projects and issues.
Incident and Change Management:
Participate in incident response activities, providing expertise to quickly resolve SCADA-related incidents.
Manage and document changes to the SCADA system, ensuring all modifications are properly tested and approved before deployment.
Qualifications:
We require a minimum BS Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Chemical, etc.) or equivalent with over 5 years’ experience in process industry.
Experience/Knowledge of selecting, designing, and programming automation control systems. Startup and commissioning of DCS, Batch, PLC and SCADA systems using distributed I/O.
