Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced
Senior Dev Ops Engineer
to join our client’s team. In this role, you will help build and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and platform reliability across cloud environments. You will lead platform upgrades and migrations, improve system observability, and ensure robust support for production systems.
This role includes participation in an on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure and operational reliability.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO :
Infrastructure as Code:
Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using
Terraform.
Cloud Platforms:
Build, manage, and optimize scalable and cost-efficient solutions in
AWS
and
GCP.
CI/CD:
Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like
Git Hub Actions
or
Git Lab CI/CD.
Observability:
Implement robust
monitoring, logging, and alerting
with
New Relic
and
Splunk
to maintain system uptime and performance.
Kubernetes:
Deploy and manage containerized workloads using
Kubernetes
to ensure scalability and reliability.
Event Streaming:
Work with
Kafka
to support real-time, event-driven architectures.
Data Platform Support:
Collaborate with engineering teams to support
Big Query ,
Snowflake , and big data platforms like
Hadoop/EMR/Data Proc.
Cloud Networking & Security:
Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including networking (VPCs, firewalls), IAM, and encryption.
Platform Upgrades & Migrations:
Lead infrastructure upgrades and platform migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.
Collaboration:
Partner with Dev, Data, and Operations teams to ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirements.
On-Call Support:
Participate in the on-call rotation to address system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and maintain uptime.
On-Call Responsibilities
Rotation Schedule:
Weekly rotation starting Tuesday at 9:00 PM PST through Monday at 9:00 AM PST
Responsibilities Include:
Monitoring system health and responding to alerts
Troubleshooting and resolving incidents with urgency
Escalating critical issues and documenting post-incident learnings
WHAT YOU BRING
Primary Technologies:
AWS, GCP, Terraform, CI/CD Tools (e.g., Git Hub Actions, Git Lab), New Relic, Splunk, Kubernetes, Kafka, Big Query, Snowflake, Hadoop/EMR/Data Proc
Required Skills & Professional Experience:
7+ years of experience in
Dev Ops ,
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) , or similar roles
Strong hands-on experience with
AWS
and
GCP
Expertise in
Terraform
for infrastructure as code
Deep understanding of
CI/CD pipelines
and automation tools
Experience with
monitoring/logging tools
like New Relic and Splunk
Proficiency with
Kubernetes
for orchestrating containerized applications
Familiarity with
Kafka
for real-time messaging and event-driven architecture
Experience supporting large-scale
data platforms
(Big Query, Snowflake, Hadoop/EMR/Data Proc)
Solid understanding of
cloud networking and security principles
Proven success in
leading platform upgrades and migrations
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Excellent communication and collaboration across teams
