Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Service Now (SNOW) Developer with 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and optimizing Service Now solutions. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Service Now architecture, workflows, automation, and integrations with enterprise systems.
As a Service Now SME, you will be responsible for custom application development, scripting, integrations, and overall platform enhancements while ensuring best practices in ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, or Sec Ops modules.
Key Responsibilities
Service Now Development & Customization
- Design, develop, and implement Service Now solutions, including custom applications, workflows, and automation.
- Customize Service Now modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM or other enterprise modules.
- Develop and optimize Service Now integrations with third-party systems (REST, SOAP, APIs, Webhooks).
- Implement and enhance Service Now CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, reconciliation, and automation.
- Develop custom scripts (Java Script, Glide API, Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, UI Policies, ACLs, and UI Actions).
- Configure and manage Service Now catalog, self-service portals, notifications, reports, and dashboards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve L3+ Service Now incidents, performance issues, and platform defects.
Automation & Workflow Optimization
- Develop orchestration workflows and automation solutions to optimize business processes.
- Implement RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI-driven workflows within Service Now.
- Optimize ITSM workflows and implement best practices to improve service efficiency.
- Define governance models and platform optimization strategies for enterprise-wide Service Now adoption.
Security, Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure Service Now security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC) and compliance.
- Manage Service Now upgrades, patching, and instance cloning while minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement Sec Ops and governance policies within Service Now.
Technical Leadership & Support
- Act as an SME and escalation point for L3+ Service Now issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security, and Business Analysts, to align Service Now capabilities with business needs.
- Conduct technical workshops, training, and documentation for junior developers and IT teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Service Now development and administration.
- Expertise in Java Script, Glide API, REST/SOAP API, and Service Now Scripting.
- Deep knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, Sec Ops, and automation workflows.
- Experience with Service Now integrations (LDAP, SSO, SCCM, Intune, Azure AD, AWS, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Service Now Orchestration, Flow Designer, and Workflow Automation.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now Performance Analytics, Reporting, and Dashboarding.
- Strong problem-solving skills with L3+ troubleshooting and debugging experience.
- Experience with Service Now upgrades, cloning, and instance management.
