Responsibilities :
- Provide expert-level technical support to partners on a wide range of Microsoft SQL Server Engine related issues, spanning versions 2008 R2 through the latest releases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance, availability, security, and operational challenges.
- Guide partners through SQL Server installations (on both 32-bit and x64-bit operating systems), configurations, and best practices.
- Assist partners with database migrations, particularly from older versions (SQL Server 2008) to newer versions (SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, and beyond).
- Advise partners on the planning and execution of SQL Server software upgrades, service pack deployments, and patch management.
- Utilize SQL Server Management Studio, Enterprise Manager, and Query Analyzer effectively for diagnostics, performance tuning, and administration tasks.
- Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including index rebuilds/reorganizations and integrity checks, to ensure optimal database health.
- Demonstrate deep proficiency in database backup and restore strategies, recovery models, linked server configurations, and the implementation of robust database maintenance plans.
- Possess strong practical experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including Replication (Snapshot, Transactional, Merge), Log Shipping, Mirroring, and Clustering.
- Exhibit expertise in implementing and managing Always On Availability Groups in SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 (and ideally newer versions).
- Effectively communicate technical solutions and guidance to partners with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge base articles, technical documentation, and best practice guides for our partner community.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to ensure comprehensive partner support.
- Adhere to rotational shift schedules to provide timely support to partners across different time :
- 3-10 years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience across versions 2008 R2, 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016 (experience with newer versions is a plus).
- Proven experience installing SQL Server across various operating system architectures (32-bit and x64-bit).
- Demonstrated experience in successfully migrating SQL Server databases between different versions (e.g., 2008 to 2012, 2012 to 2014/2016).
- Solid understanding and practical experience in upgrading SQL Server software and applying service packs and patches.
- Excellent proficiency in using SQL Server Management Studio, Enterprise Manager (for older versions), and Query Analyzer for database administration and troubleshooting.
- Strong skills in creating and managing SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduling tasks.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of database maintenance best practices, including index management and integrity checks.
- Extensive experience with database backup, restore, and recovery procedures in various scenarios.
- Proven ability to configure and manage linked servers effectively.
- Significant hands-on experience implementing and managing various High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies (Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering).
- Expertise in implementing different SQL Server Replication models (Snapshot, Transactional, and Merge).
- Deep understanding and practical experience in implementing and managing Always On Availability Groups in SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017 (experience with later versions is highly desirable).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
