Role: Sr GM Piping Projects

Main Purpose
Responsible for all Piping Engineering activities of the Project. Candidate shall be responsible
for project management, budget control, engineering, interface management, support to
construction, facilitating commissioning, trouble shooting and steady state support.
Job Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities).
Ensure strict adherence to company HSE policies and procedures across all project
phases.
Develop in-house conceptual and basic engineering designs, including plot plans.
Prepare detailed scopes of work for engineering consultants and construction
contractors.
Generate budgetary cost estimates for engineering, materials, and construction
activities.
Review and approve engineering deliverables from consultants and vendors.
Conduct 3 D model reviews and resolve interface issues across disciplines.
Perform technical bid evaluations and manage MTO (Material Take-Off) processes.
Recommend procurement decisions for valves, piping bulks, and fire water systems.
Review vendor engineering documents in collaboration with consultants.
Manage engineering interfaces and coordinate inter-disciplinary activities for layout and
equipment integration.
Oversee vendor management including document approvals, expediting, inspections,
and dispatches.
Support construction teams with AFC (Approved for Construction) drawings and timely
material delivery.
Address field engineering issues and respond to audit observations effectively.
Assist O&M teams during commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and steady-state
operations.
Conduct root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions.
Apply lessons learned from previous projects and implement value engineering
practices.
Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior engineers and subordinates.
Uphold and promote the company’s core values and behaviours in all professional
activities.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
Proficient in relevant piping codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, OISD,
etc.
Strong understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, and process design principles
including statutory, safety, operational, and maintenance requirements.
Job Description
Skilled in preparing conceptual plot plans, equipment layouts, budget estimates,
specifications, and MTOs.
Knowledgeable in the design of pulsating and acoustically induced vibrating lines.
Experienced in developing Scope of Work (SOW) and deliverable lists for Detail
Engineering Consultants (DEC) and construction BOQs.
Proficient in reviewing and approving plot plans, equipment layouts, engineering
drawings, specifications, calculations, data sheets, and 3 D models.
Experienced in conducting interdisciplinary checks and ensuring effective coordination
across engineering domains.
Possesses working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines: Process,
Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Structural.
Capable of managing vendors and external stakeholders, including document control,
expediting, and technical coordination.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Qualification:
Master’s degree in Geology.
Experience:
Candidate should be graduate engineer (BE/BTech) in Mechanical discipline from
recognized University and should have minimum experience of 15 years in Oil and Gas
/ Petrochemical / CBM industry.
Candidate should have worked on Concept, FEED and detail engineering of at least
one project in Oil and Gas / Petrochemical / CBM industry
Candidate should have experience in handling reputed National/International
Engineering Consultants and Package/Equipment Vendors
