Responsibilities: Work with Delta Oracle Engineers and our service providers to deliver a highly available, resilient and performant database environment; Deliver required database functionality that meets project requirements on or before defined due date; Ensure the detailed physical design of data structures and database complies with enterprise build and configuration standards and processes; Ensure data recovery plans are robust, regularly tested, and updated to handle new risks; Ensuring that the database management strategies align with the overall IT and business strategies of the organization.
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with database management, including data breaches, data loss, and system downtime.
Provide consultation to application development teams on Oracle database technical issues and techniques; Ensuring the database operates at peak efficiency requires ongoing adjustments and tuning.
The team leader must oversee these activities, often getting involved in complex optimization tasks.
Ensure Deltas Oracle database environment is secure, provide recommendations for improving database security and implementing approved security remediations; Coordinate downtime with application teams and system engineers to implement approved changes; Interface with vendors and managed service partners to resolve operational issues or questions; Follow established IT / DBA policies and procedures Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment Experience in Resource Allocation, Capacity Planning & Resource utilization Experience in Performance Management by providing regular performance feedback, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
Skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate with vendors effectively.
Capable of troubleshooting complex database issues and making informed decisions under pressure.
Capability to align database strategies with business objectives and foresee the impact of technological trends on database management.
Minimum Qualifications: 4-year degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience in a related field of study Minimum 12 years of experience creating and managing Oracle databases and technologies Experience with versions 12.2 and newer, both standalone and multi-instance Real Application Clusters Demonstrated strong expertise in diagnosing and resolving database performance or reliability issues Able to work independently on AWS Strong background and hands-on experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager ecosystem including agents, repositories and management servers in a highly-available, load-balanced configuration Familiarity with Red Hat Linux OS versions 6 and newer Proven track record of implementing and administering Oracle Data Guard for replication Able to work independently and balance multiple concurrent projects with mid to long-term deliverables Hands-on development and maintenance of UNIX Korn or Bash shell scripting Ability to provide technical direction to others, including application developers Comfortable in high-pressure situations, able to communicate well with both technical peers and leadership.
