Roles and Responsibilities




Synopsis of Role:

The successful candidate would be responsible for day-to-day delivery of the outsourced warehousing and logistics function spread across Australia, Canada, India and the UK.

The successful candidate would also be responsible for providing strategic leadership on how their department interacts with other aspects of the business and to ensure that it is continually tuned for optimal performance.

Essential functions:
Work internally with the requisite departments to understand and deliver on their warehousing and logistic requirements
Work with the Companys clients to ensure delivery and compliance as per their logistic requirements
Work with third party service providers located in various locations globally to manage the Companys warehousing and logistic needs
Key aspects of the role include:
inventory reconciliation at third party warehouses
import and export of goods (with the assistance of customs agents)
ensure on time delivery of requirements
providing the requisite data internally for finance, planning and forecasting
very close monitoring of all the related costs (shipping, clearance, storage, deliveries etc.,)



Critical skills and job complexity :

a) Unique knowledge and skills
Deep understanding of the requirements of the FMCG industry preferably the Tea Industry
The ability to foster and cultivate business partnerships
Excellent written and spoken English (communication with external clients abroad)
ERP/ SAP knowledge
The ability to use computer operating systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point

b) Contact types / levels internal & external
Organisation wide (India & UK) and external (Australia, Canada and the UK)
With external copackers across all markets

c) Problem solving & decision making• Analytical
Strong numerical ability
Excellent decision making ability



Preferred education and experience :
Graduate/Masters in or diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain
A strong leader with at least 6-8 years experience in warehousing & logistics, of which at least 3 years should be in the FMCG industry
Experience in distribution to retail clients (modern trade)
