Head Finance
Job Role & Synopsis
The Head Finance is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all financial activities of the hospital to ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and support for strategic growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategic Thinking
• Ability to align financial strategy with hospital vision and growth plans
• Long-term financial planning for capacity expansion and service lines
• Decision-making based on financial and operational data
Budgeting, Cost Control & Profitability
• Zero-based and activity-based budgeting skills
• Cost optimization without compromising patient care quality
• Department-wise profitability and cost center analysis
Healthcare Financial Acumen
• Deep understanding of hospital revenue models (OPD, IPD, diagnostics, pharmacy)
• Knowledge of package pricing, DRG-based costing, and specialty-wise margins
• Understanding of Compliance Bodies -related financial implications
Financial Management & Control
• Oversee hospital budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization
• Ensure accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Implement internal financial controls to safeguard hospital assets
Accounting & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF, ESI, and other applicable laws
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax consultants
• Ensure timely filing of returns and compliance with healthcare-related financial regulations
Revenue Cycle & Cost Management
• Supervise billing, collections, and insurance / TPA settlements
• Analyze revenue leakage and improve billing efficiency
• Control operational costs while maintaining quality patient care
• Evaluate departmental profitability and cost centres
Strategic & Business Support
• Provide financial insights to support hospital expansion, new services, and capital investments
• Evaluate CAPEX proposals including medical equipment procurement
• Assist in pricing strategy for medical services and packages
• Support management in negotiations with vendors, insurers, and banks
Team Leadership & Systems
• Lead and develop the finance and accounts team
• Drive implementation and optimization of HIS / ERP / HRMS / Accounting systems
• Establish SOPs for finance and procurement processes
• Will be closely working with the Top Management & the Board
• Will Be also be an advisory in Investments and Costing
Technology & Systems Orientation
• Experience with HIS, ERP, accounting software, HRMS
• Ability to automate finance processes and improve controls
• System integration across clinical and finance functions
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of hospital finance and healthcare economics
• Knowledge of Indian taxation and statutory compliance
• Expertise in budgeting, MIS, and financial analysis
• Leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel
• High ethical standards and attention to detail
Qualifications
• CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) from a recognized institute
• Additional certifications in healthcare finance preferred
Experience
• 15+ years of experience in finance & accounts
• Minimum 5-7 years in a senior finance role within a hospital or healthcare organizations preferably

• Reduction in revenue leakage
• Accuracy and timeliness of MIS reporting
• Financial Dashboards to the Top Management
Knowledge of Tamil preferred
