Responsible to manage and drive efficiency, profitability, and excellence in our freight operation Responsibility: Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to enhance the performance and profitability of the Freight Desk, aligning with the company's overarching goals and objectives.

Leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team on chartering, port operations, stevedoring, logistics, and operational activities.

All aspects of chartering activities, including negotiating contracts, securing vessels, and optimizing freight arrangements to meet stakeholders’ requirements while maximizing profitability.

Port operations, ensuring efficient vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and compliance with regulatory standards to facilitate smooth and timely cargo movements.

Stevedoring operations to optimize productivity, minimize turnaround times, and uphold high standards of safety and quality in cargo handling.

Closely working with internal stakeholders, including commercial teams, finance, and legal teams, to coordinate freight logistics and ensure seamless integration with trading activities with external partners, including shipping companies, terminal operators, and logistics providers, to negotiate favorable terms, resolve issues, and optimize service levels.

Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting freight operations, and adapt strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.

Continuous improvement initiatives across freight operations, leveraging technology, process optimization, and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.

Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing freight operations, with a strong focus on safety, environmental sustainability, and ethical business practices.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Advanced degree preferred.

Deep knowledge and understanding of international shipping, freight forwarding, and maritime regulations, with a proven ability to navigate complex logistics challenges and deliver effective solutions.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role within the freight and logistics industry, with a strong track record of success in managing internal freight operations, chartering, port operations, stevedoring, and logistics functions
