Position Overview: Our client seeking a highly skilled and accomplished professional as the Head of Development for the Energy Business. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in successfully leading the development of projects within the renewable energy sector, demonstrating expertise in various aspects such as land acquisition, investment strategy, long-term client contracts, and infrastructure development. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of the investment landscape, a deep understanding of finance, and a successful history of negotiating and managing commercial agreements. The role also involves significant involvement in business development and equity management Role & responsibilities Project Development:
Lead the end-to-end development process of renewable energy projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Oversee land acquisition strategies, assessing potential sites, and negotiating agreements to secure optimal locations for project development.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory bodies, and local communities. Investment and Finance:
Formulate and implement comprehensive investment strategies for power plants and Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
Analyze financial models, conduct feasibility studies, and assess risks to make informed investment decisions.
Work closely with finance teams to ensure proper capital allocation and financial sustainability. Commercial Negotiation:
Lead negotiations for long-term contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
Navigate complex commercial landscapes, balancing profitability with sustainability and corporate values. Business Development:
Drive business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities for growth and expansion in the renewable energy sectors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute business strategies that align with organizational goals. Equity Management:
Manage equity investments in projects, optimizing returns and mitigating risks.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to attract and secure equity financing for development projects. Preferred candidate profile BE + MBA (Marketing / Finance) with 20 plus years of experience from Renewable industry.
In-depth understanding of the complete investment and development lifecycle.
Strong negotiation and commercial acumen with a history of successful contract management.
Demonstrated experience in equity management and business development.
Exceptional financial analysis and modelling skills
