Key Responsibilities : - Lead the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of OSIsoft PI suite, including PI Data Archive, AF (Asset Framework), PI Vision, PI Notifications, and PI Analysis services.
- Support PI system integration and scaling with a focus on high-tag count, high data resolution, and efficient performance.
- Configure PI Interfaces (e.g, PI-PI, OPC DA/HDA, UFL, RDBMS, and PI System Connectors) for seamless data transfer across diverse environments.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues, system errors, and data discrepancies in PI systems.
- Ensure the stability, reliability, and scalability of PI infrastructure, particularly in scenarios with high data volume and low-latency requirements.
- Perform routine health checks and apply necessary configurations to improve system performance and reduce bottlenecks.
- Work with cloud-based data consumers, facilitating efficient data flow to and from cloud environments (e.g, AWS, Azure).
- Collaborate with teams to support cloud-based PI system implementations and improve data accessibility and analytics capabilities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (including IT, operations, and data analytics teams) to align PI system architecture with business and operational needs.
- Provide comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Technical Skills & Experience Required : - 5 years of hands-on experience with OSIsoft PI (Aveva PI) systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting at an enterprise level.
- Expertise in configuring and maintaining PI Data Archive, AF (Asset Framework), PI Vision, PI Notifications, and PI Analysis.
- Experience configuring and maintaining PI Interfaces such as PI-PI, OPC DA/HDA, UFL, RDBMS, and PI System Connectors (PSC).
- Proven experience in working with high tag counts and high-frequency data within the PI system.
- Strong knowledge of Power Shell scripting for automating tasks and debugging scripts.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and Windows Server environments (especially Windows Server 2016/2012).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g, AWS or Azure) for data integration and management.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills in complex PI system environments.
- Proven ability to manage data flow between PI systems and cloud-based or on-premise consumers.
Preferred Skills : - Experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry.
- Familiarity with PI ACE (PI Analytics Calculation Engine).
- Knowledge of AF templates, template inheritance, table lookups, and substitution methods.
- Experience with Business Integrator, RTQP, and Web API.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory for authentication and access management (ref:hirist.tech)
