Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled Unix/Oracle Production Support Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Unix, SQL, and Oracle, and a solid understanding of Dev Ops tools and ITIL processes.
Key Responsibilities : Production Support : - Monitor and troubleshoot critical applications and systems.
- Respond to incidents and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, patches, and upgrades.
- Implement and maintain automated solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Problem Solving : - Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve root causes of issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot application-related problems.
- Implement effective problem-solving techniques and workarounds.
Incident Management : - Manage incidents according to ITIL best practices.
- Document incident details, resolutions, and lessons learned.
- Escalate critical issues to appropriate teams as needed.
Change Management : - Participate in change management processes to ensure smooth implementation of changes.
- Assess the impact of changes on production systems.
- Coordinate with various teams to minimize downtime during deployments.
Shift Work and On-Call Support : - Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and on-call support, as required.
Required Skills and Experience : Technical Skills : - Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases.
- Experience with Unix scripting (shell, Perl, Python).
- Familiarity with Dev Ops tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet).
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
