The Lead Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of both front-end and back-end components for digital commerce projects, including SAP Hybris Commerce and similar technologies.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive integration and functionality, aligning the entire stack with business objectives and user needs.

The Lead Developer will also identify opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency in a fast-paced, global digital commerce environment.

As a Lead Engineer / Developer, you will: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of both front-end and back-end components for complex multi-channel customer experience projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration and functionality across the stack.

Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Support project timelines by identifying and mitigating risks and resolving technical bottlenecks.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for performance optimization and efficiency across the entire application.

Utilize data-driven insights to inform architectural and design decisions, demonstrating the impact of full-stack development.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART Must-Have Experience & Skills: Expert in digital commerce platform - SAP Hybris / SAP Commerce Cloud (B2 C)with hands on experience of managing and maintaining an enterprise level implementation.

Experience with RESTful API design and development Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development Familiarity with version control systems like Git Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like JIRA (preferred) but any tool like Jenkins, Travis CI, or Circle CI Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Experience in the retail industry, particularly within a global context.

Nice to Have skills: Proficiency in both front-end technologies (HTML / CSS / Java Script / React / Angular or Vue.js) and back-end technologies (Java / Python / Node.js / Ruby / SQL / No SQL Experience in the retail industry, particularly within a global context.

Proven track record of collaborating cross-functional technology teams in front-end development or customer experience projects.

Experience in analysing and mapping customer journeys, and familiarity with digital marketing tools.
