Qualification: B. E. / B. Tech in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics / Applied Electronics
Key Responsibilities
1. Instrumentation Design & Engineering Lead Design and engineering of instrumentation systems for industrial and heavy industry projects including process plants, utilities, and infrastructure facilities . Preparation of Instrumentation Index, I/O Lists, Cable Schedules, Loop Diagrams, Hook‑up Drawings, and JB wiring diagrams . Development and review of P&IDs , control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, interlock logic, and alarm philosophies. Selection and specification of field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, level instruments, analyzers , and control valves. Preparation and review of instrument datasheets , material requisitions, and vendor documentation.
2. Control & Automation Systems Engineering of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and automation systems including control panels and network architecture. Coordination with control system vendors and OEMs for FAT, SAT, and system integration activities.
Knowledge of VFDs, MCC interfaces, ESD, F&G systems , and package equipment integration.
3. Site Engineering & Execution Supervision of installation, cabling, termination, calibration, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems. Review and approval of site installation drawings and as‑built documentation.
Support during pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities to ensure smooth plant operation.
4. Coordination & Project Interface Coordination with process, electrical, mechanical, piping, and civil teams for interdisciplinary integration. Interaction with clients, contractors, inspection agencies, and OEMs to resolve technical issues.
Review and approval of vendor drawings, technical submittals, and inspection documents.
5. Standards, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, ISA, and other international standards . Ensure adherence to safety standards, hazardous area classifications , and plant safety practices. Support HAZOP, SIL, and safety studies related to instrumentation and control systems.
Key Skills & Competencies Strong experience in instrumentation engineering for heavy industrial facilities . Proficiency in Auto CAD (instrument layouts, hook‑ups, cable routing). Hands‑on experience in site execution and commissioning of instrumentation systems. Good understanding of process control, automation, and safety systems . Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Preferred Requirements Experience in EPC / PMC / consultant environments . Exposure to overseas / Gulf projects will be an added advantage. Experience in oil & gas, refineries, power plants, chemical, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing projects.
