About the Role
The Global Materials Leader/Chemist will:
Work in close relation with Daramic plants and Technical Centers for testing and qualification ofraw materials, formulas, product/process and specific projects
Provide technical support to the worldwide purchasing managers in raw materials sourcing and qualification of new suppliers.
Participate in the development of raw materials suppliers and establish partnership to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in purchasing raw materials for the company.

Expectations

Global Materials
Manage the WW PTS/RM/formula system and raw materials specifications, and collaborate with all the site managers, engineers, purchasing teams in getting the system running with efficiency.
Communicate raw materials tracking and technical information to key stakeholders.
Provide technical support to Daramic plants when conducting plant trials and raw materials testing.
Coordinate the quality evaluations of the trial materials with the QCI Managers, DTC, ETC, ITC and NTC labs.

Coordinate the qualification/research work and approvals of new raw materials.
Support the WW Purchasing Managers for alternative supply source development and for technical screening and specification definition of raw materials.
Travel to sites if required during key raw materials qualifications.
Participate to the technical and commercial meetings with the suppliers when needed.
Participate in development of suppliers in raw material quality improvement and cost reduction programs.

Minimize the risk and dependency exposure by developing alternative suppliers and wherever possible establishing multi-sourcing.
Ensure department activities and practices comply with all applicable safely, regulatory and quality system requirements.

Apply the requirements of ISO 9001 : 2008 and ISO 14001 : 2004.

Leadership (Training, development, assessment and coaching of technicians)

Working Conditions

General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 30% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount to force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
