Responsibilities:
Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address academic, personal, and emotional concerns.
Listen empathetically to students’ issues and provide guidance, encouragement, and support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Assist students in developing effective study skills, time management techniques, and coping strategies to improve academic performance and well-being.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents/guardians to identify students who may benefit from counseling services and develop appropriate intervention plans.
Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and support groups on topics related to student success, mental health, stress management, and other relevant subjects.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in counseling practices, respecting students’ privacy and autonomy.
Stay informed about campus resources, academic programs, and support services available to students, and refer students to appropriate resources as needed.
Monitor and document students’ progress, interventions, and outcomes in counseling sessions, maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
Stay updated on best practices and trends in student counseling and participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
Contribute to a positive and inclusive campus culture by promoting respect, diversity, and inclusion among students and staff. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students.
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards students’ concerns and experiences.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with diverse student populations.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle crisis situations calmly and professionally.
