Intermediate Distributed Support Engineer
Global Technology Services (GTS) provides IT infrastructure and application support services to the Aegon businesses.
AGT is responsible for the provision, support and ongoing maintenance of IT operating platforms, applications and services.
There is also a strong connection with external providers necessitating vendor and service provider management.
AGT is responsible for driving the technology strategy and providing IT infrastructure solutions that are in alignment with business objectives and the AGT technology strategy.
The GTS Distributed Service Center provides support for Aegon's global distributed infrastructure environment utilizing a 24 x 7 x 365 model.
The team is responsible for distributed infrastructure monitoring, incident troubleshooting and resolution, server/hardware and operating system maintenance, and service/change request fulfillment.
Responsibilities :
- Infrastructure monitoring of multiple type events and alerts to ensure overall health of the distributed environment.
- Identify, analyze and resolve alerted and escalated incidents within service level agreements, include but not limited to : backup failure alerts, server availability and health alerts, AWD/FAX alerts, Patrol agent alerts, Proactive Net alerts and SNMP agent alerts, Certificate Alerts, O365 knowledge.
- Fulfill service requests, including Windows/Linux server builds and decommissions, folder/file restore, move and copy, server component requests, Share Point site request, elevated service access requests and print server requests.
- Serve as the escalation point for the Tier 1 help desk.
- Handle ongoing server maintenance, including standard, low risk infrastructure changes.
- Perform incident trending and analysis.
- Create, modify and maintain processes and break/fix procedures.
Required Qualifications :
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- Two or more years of related experience in a similar environment.
- Experience in the following areas : Windows Server, UNIX\LINUX, AWS, AZURE, O365, VMWare, SAN, NAS, Share Point, DHCP, DNS, Power Shell, and F5 VPN.
- Written/verbal communication and customer service skills to interact with Aegon global customers and partners on a daily basis.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and resolve alerted and escalated incidents.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Understanding of server hardware and maintenance procedures for both Windows and UNIX\Linux server infrastructure.
- Knowledge of monitoring and diagnostic software.
- Knowledge and creation of scripting within Power Shell.
